Volunteering

Volunteers are alumni, extended family members, and community members. From elementary to high school, we value the time and special talents of volunteers and welcome them into our family!

We welcome our community to bring their skills, expertise and helping hands into our school! Volunteers play a pivotal role in student success. While Volunteers do not assume the responsibilities of school staff, they can help tutor, read, chaperone, and do other similar activities in the classroom and on campus.

In addition to helping teachers, we also have volunteers who help coaches, library staff, office staff, and after school clubs. If you have a particular skill or expertise, mentoring a group of students with similar interests or abilities can provide an opportunity for you to do something you love while passing on your knowledge to the next generation.

Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

Being a part of a middle school PTA is a great way to stay in touch with your child’s school environment as they navigate their path through these early teen years. We recognize that many of you have been involved throughout elementary school. Don’t stop now!

We meet at least once per month and do a number of things that benefit the school, the teachers and the students. Join us at one of our meetings. And when you’re ready to volunteer, no matter how large or small the task may be, we are always in need of more people who want to help. Email us to get started!

School Accountability Committee (SAC)

We’d love to have you get involved! Our School Accountability Committee (SAC) brings together parents, teachers, and administrators to share updates and discuss Challenger’s budget, accreditation, and school priorities.

We ask members to commit to attending all four meetings and to help share key information with our school community. It’s a great way to stay informed, offer input, and make a meaningful impact. If you are interested in joining the School Accountability Committee, please email challenger@asd20.org.
