Math & Science
Challenger students focus on Pre-Algebra and Linear Algebra lessons, with accelerated options if foundational criteria are met. Science classrooms spiral curriculum that revisits subjects to deepen knowledge and understanding. Science topics include biology, Earth science and physical science all while tackling real world issues and problems.
Language Arts & Social Studies
Communication and expression are emphasized through language arts studies. Oral, reading, and written skills are developed, evaluated, and honed to prepare for high school. In social studies, students acquire skills in historical analysis, geography, civics, and economics through the exploration of different cultures, events, and people throughout history.
Electives for Exploration
Challenger provides a safe environment where students can learn and explore a variety of subjects and discover new passions. Students have an opportunity to expand their understanding of the world as they dive into rich and exciting experiences offered through exploratory classes in the performing and visual arts, physical education, foreign languages, and technology.
Academic Services
Challenger provides a variety of academic services including reading and math interventionists, resource support for students on education plans, a severe special needs program, and a full time Talented and Gifted teacher.
Where Learning CLICs
Challenger Library and Information Center, or CLIC, offers a flexible environment and support for students to read, learn, research, and solve problems. Personalized reading recommendations, reading lists and reading contests are part of the center’s programming.
