Diana Johns

I was born and raised in the great state of Texas.  We moved to Colorado with the intention of staying for only one year.  That was back in 1999, and we have never looked back.  My husband and I, collectively have six children.  We are a busy family and cherish spending time together.  We love to travel, mountain climb, and anything where we're together.  Our daughters followed my passion with horses and compete heavily in equestrian events, specifically jumping.  You will often find us at the barn with our horses.
I received my B.S. degree in Geography and Planning from Texas State University.  Before moving to Colorado, I started my teaching career (1993) deep in the inner city of Dallas, Texas where I taught Special Education, Language Arts, Reading, and Social Studies ranging from 5th grade to 8th grade.  After moving to Colorado, I taught 2nd graders for two years before deciding to spend the next nine years as a stay-at-home mom.  Although I treasured the time with my children, I did miss the classroom.  I came to Challenger in 2011 and have never worked with a more dedicated staff than the one here.  I love teaching students about the past and how it relates to today and focusing on integrating Language Arts into the Social Studies curriculum.  I am passionate about teaching and helping my students find success.
