Birgitta Gustafson
I am the language arts teacher on Team 814.
A little about me...
I was born and raised in New Haven, CT and Chicago, IL, and have had the chance to live in many parts of the U.S. and to travel to many parts of the world, including Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

I attended the University of Chicago Laboratory High School, New York University and Harvard Divinity School, where I received a Master of Theological Studies degree in world religions with a concentration in Islam.

Before moving into public education, I worked as a research assistant for professors at Harvard and Hebrew Union College, and as Christian education director at a variety of Protestant churches in Cincinnati, OH, Carlisle, PA and Colorado Springs.

I have lived in the Springs for 10 years and have worked at Challenger Middle School for 8 years. I volunteered when my daughter was a student here, and then worked in the library as a computer/AV technician before becoming a teacher. I have two adult daughters, Aliya and Laila, and a pug named Shelby.
