Welcome to Mrs. A. Gus's Page
I was born in Austin, Texas and lived there until I was 28. From Austin, I moved to the Houston area for five years, and then to the Denver area in 1986. As my students are well aware I am a diehard University of Texas graduate and still a LONGHORN FAN. I am in my 34th year of teaching and cannot picture myself doing anything else. I have taught grades 6 through 12 but my favorite grade is 8th. This year is my twelfth in District 20 and my eleventh year at Challenger. I have found my home here at Challenger. My hope for all my students is that each one becomes a productive member of society and that each student understands the responsibilities of being an American citizen. Through my history class, I want students to learn about our history and how it applies to today's society. The reward of teaching is to have former students come back so I can see the young adults that I have hopefully influenced in some small positive way.
