Amanda Joy

Education: I just recently graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with my degree in Special Education, K-12 Teaching.

Background: I grew up in Parker, CO, then moved to Boston and New York for a couple of years, then relocated to Castle Rock, CO where I graduated from Douglas County High School. I have been teaching for the past 3 years in Special Education classrooms. These classes range from students with severe needs, to students in the resource room. I also have a lot of experience from tutoring students from every age level. I grew up around kids and have always had a passion to teach them. I will be attending Grad School soon to pursue another degree in Education. Besides being an avid Nebraska Cornhuskers fan, I also like to be outside, snowboard, camp, hike, run, and I played college rugby and now coach for a High School Girls Team.

Philosophy in Education: My goal as an educator is to give the students the confidence they need in order to succeed through academics and social development. I want to support them in the best way possible in order to become a great student and person in society through building positive relationships and having fun in the classroom!
